Aluminum oxide, also know as Alumina, is the most well-known oxide ceramic material. Alumina (Al2O3) in its various levels of purity is used more often than any other advanced ceramic material.
There are Properties of Alumina/Aluminum Oxide:
Good gliding properties
Low density
Bioinert and food compatible
Very good electrical insulation
Moderate to extremely high mechanical strength
Very high compressive strength
High hardness
Moderate thermal conductivity
High corrosion and wear resistance
Alumina is used for key industrial purposes other than producing aluminum materials. The production of spark plug insulators and metallic paint, and its use as a fuel component for solid rocket boosters are but a few examples.
Alumina is used as a tunnel barrier for fabrication of superconducting devices such as quantum interference devices and electron transistors. The oxide is also used as a dosimeter for radiation protection.
Aluminum oxide China Special Ceramic Parts are widely used in heavy-duty forming substrates, tools and resistor cores in the electronics industry, thread guides in textile engineering, tiles for wear protection and ballistics, seal and regulator discs for water taps and valves, heat-sinks for lighting systems, protection tubes in thermal processes or catalyst carriers for the chemicals industry.
